The UW Oshkosh curriculum gives each student a well rounded perspective. In the College of Business, where I am a student, each class contributes to your knowledge base. My marketing research class with Dr. Bryan Lilly was awesome. I learned so much about my marketing major and what I need to do to be successful in my career. But like most things, you only get as much as your 're willing to put into the classes. Working as hard as you can in each class will give you an edge over other job candidates who are doing just enough to get by.
Career services has helped me create my resume. They know what employers are looking for. I go to career services before interviews or even before I send my resume out. They look over my materials, give me suggestions, and get me ready for the tough questions employers may ask.
I've been involved in lots of organizations on campus. I am the president of the university honors program, a mentor and an ambassador for the College of Business and a member of the marketing club. The organizations require some work, but the experiences I've gained are what employers want. College isn't just about books; it's also about the experience you have every day. Being well-rounded includes being able to function day-to-day in different situations, many of which can't be taught in a classroom.
