Making the transition from high school to college is memorable. Everything that you were comfortable with at home changes, and you get to learn a lot about yourself. Every day is different, and I'm learning new things all the time!
The first week of school, I was definitely nervous but also so excited! I knew that I could meet new people and be involved in new activities. I decided to go with a roommate chosen randomly for me, and it ended up working out great! We get along so well and have a lot in common. Being away from my family and boyfriend was very hard at first, but after I got to know the girls on my floor, I wasn't as homesick. It was so easy to meet people at UW Oshkosh, too, because everyone was really friendly.
I have been able to achieve academic success here at UW Oshkosh. The class sizes are relatively small, and the professors are willing to help. My advice is to manage your time: schedule classes, work, exercise, and studying. As long as you consistently attend class and set aside time for studying, academic success will follow.
