I care a lot about the welfare of people, especially children. I want to become certified in teaching because there are too many children out there who don't have decent teachers and role models in their schools. I want to take on that role. As a tutor at Oshkosh West High School, I experience a large classroom with diverse needs, much like what I will face once I begin my teaching career.
An 8th grade boy at a local middle school is my 'little brother.' I make sure he is caught up on his homework and help him if he needs it. Then we play cards or computer games, or I encourage other activities that help him grow. It's beneficial to know that I have influence on a child.
